On the road

Greetings from Canada, more precisely from Thompson, Manitoba. I'm here for work, surprise surprise... It's 2½ week trip so I guess updating this blog is just right type of treatment for the home sickness. There's not too much to tell about this place, typical mining town as pretty much everything in here is somehow related to the mine. Well perhaps except yet another sad example of how alcohol effects on the life of the local indigenous community. You can see them having their parties on the streets at any time of the day. Sort of similar stuff that I saw in a little mining towns in Australia. This scene is of course little bit skewed as the indian reserves are dry.
Before going to the earlier happenings we have had in June here's our current office from inside and outside...

June began with the celebration of Iines' one year birthday with the family. Iines got lot of charming presents, thanks everyone. I'd think that the black ferrari has recently been the most popular one especially if dad is driving it...

One sunny Saturday we made a trip to Korkeasaari (Zoo). For me it was almost as exciting as it was to Iines since this was the first time in Korkeasaari in about 15 years. Conveniently there's a direct ferry service from Hakaniemi to Korkeasaari so we enjoyed a short ride in a sunny weather. In the zoo we of course saw heaps of interesting animals but towards the end Iines started to get bit tired. So I guess there still will be something to see on the second time too. For instance when we were checking out the bears, Iines seemed to be more interested about one seagull standing next to us than the bears bit further away.

Cruising is so cool!

What's that?

West and east

Just before leaving to this trip we went to Anna's summer place for the midsummer. Relaxing weekend consisted of good friends, lot of food as usual, little bit of basketball, sauna and few beverages. Perhaps I may say that people were taking it little bit easier than the last time we spent midsummer in this very same place.
